Not new, but I just discovered this from LinuxDevices. Palm is selling a small mobile companion that is a lot smaller than a standard laptop. It is based on Linux with an Opera browser. I found it interesting because I hate lugging a full laptop as much as I dread replying to emails through a hand held phone. Is this the happy middle ground? At $499 it has certainly got my attention.
“The Foleo has a bit of heft at just over 2 pounds, but it didn’t feel all that heavy - it definitely would have taken a weight off my back if it replaced my IBM Thinkpad T40. The customized, Linux-based interface is very simple and very responsive. ”
