You've probably heard of the latest trend in portable mini-laptops called netbooks. Netbooks are small and portable, not too powerful it can be used for simple tasks such as word processing, watching videos, listening to music, surf Internet and upload photos from your digital camera. They vary in size from 10 inches to 7 inches and the tiny body makes it an attractive proposition for travelers who want something to get rid of your images on the disk and maybe a diary of their movements. But even some business users find attractive because they are easily transportable and can be use on the road and in meetings.
We do not consider a netbook if you want a laptop to run multithreaded applications or tax, such as Adobe Photoshop or Lotus Notes; netbooks just are not powerful enough for applications. With a netbook can run an image editor to crop the bottom and rename your photos (and add a little contrast and brightness), standard applications run word processing and spreadsheet, standard-definition movies, listen MP3, surf the web and use Skype. You can not edit video, encode video or music (unless you're willing to wait a long time), and can not review your email while listening to music while working on a Word document while browsing web sites in Flash heavy!
Most netbooks have certain common characteristics: a processor, which is almost always an Intel Atom N270 or N280, 1 GB of RAM, integrated Intel graphics, and size to 10.2in screen (though BenQ has a 11.6in model). Differ in their netbooks battery life ( laptop "> laptop battery), and the hard disk used to store files. The netbooks have a traditional spinning disk drive or solid state drive with no moving parts. Capacity latter can make sacrifices, but a netbook a bit lighter and quieter. Netbook Specifications

AMD has launched a low-voltage chip suitable for netbooks – the Athlon 64 L110 – but not yet widespread.
The Expansion Slots: Only a few netbooks have integrated expansion slots: Lenovo IdeaPad S10 has an ExpressCard/34 slot, for example, and HP Mini 2140 is a ExpressCard/54 slot. An ExpressCard slot is useful if you want to install a mobile data card for Internet access or a digital TV tuner, for example. However, there USB devices can be used for the same tasks. No need to buy a notebook with an ExpressCard slot, unless you already have devices that need it.
Graphics: netbooks are not dedicated graphics processor, but have integrated graphics cards that use the processor and main system memory perform many functions. This means you can not use the netbook for a sophisticated 3D graphics processing. As a result, netbooks can not run many games (unless you are quite old and do not require complex 3D graphics). The most common graphics card, built in the netbook is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (GMA 950). Some netbooks use Intel's GMA 500 integrated graphics capabilities including advanced video processing that the GMA 950. Often used in netbooks that have a digital TV tuner.
Touring Memory card: As most regular-size notebooks, netbooks have a SD card slot that can be used to download images quickly from a digital camera.
Network: All netbooks are equipped with wireless networks and Puerto Ethernet. Wireless network speed is usually up to 802.11g, but some quick assistance netbooks Wi-Fi 802.11n. Storage: netbooks are available with a conventional semiconductor memory or (spinning) hard drives. SSDs have no moving space, so it is less likely to turn hard data loss if you drop your netbook.
