How do I reformat Acer laptop windows 7?
This had windows 7 to begin with, I just want to completely reformat and erase all of the junk I have on it and restore it as if it were new.
Is there a way to do this without a CD?
I know how to make partitions and how to format them, but it will not let me. The directions say to click on an unallocated area (color coded black) but there is only allocated (blue) and the option for format is grayed out.
Check if your PC has a recovery partition. This will not erase the OS, but restore the PC back to factory settings.
To check:
Start > Computer (RIGHT CLICK) > Manage > Disk Management
If there is a partiton without a drive letter, this is most likely a recovery partition, and you are able to proceed with restoring the PC from the recovery partition. Look in your owner’s manual to figure out how to do this.
Good luck.
